Description: A wonderful pencil sketch of the abandoned colliery nearly opposite the Globe Inn. The colliery had been abandoned for some years when this sketch was made and no vestige of it now remains, although when the surrounding fields are freshly ploughed each year, unmistakable black traces of coal are uncovered. Signed By W.N. Hardwick.
