At the top of a prospectus, dated 1856, to raise money for this 'college of comprehensive education according to the principles of the Church of England'. The prospectus was printed by Wood Bros., 11, Old Bond Street, Bath. Among the differences between this proposal and the finished building is the shape if the top of the central tower.
