Description: Two pages comprising a plate showing a plan of the Roman villa discovered in 1837 at Newton St. Loe, Bath and accurate detailed drawings of the tessellated pavements found in the villa. It was discovered during the construction of the Great Western Railway. Brunel suspended work in the area to enable the site to be recorded. The pavement was moved to Keynsham, where it could be seen at the station for many years. It is now at Bristol Museum. The accompanying text describes the ruins of the villa and the pavements and gives a key to the drawings. Published by W.B. Cook, Bath and printed by Day & Hague lithographers to the Queen. Thos.
