Description: William Beckford's original burial in Bath Abbey Cemetery in 1844. Beckford's Tower was bought by his daughter in 1848 and the land around it consecrated as a cemetery so Beckford was re-interred in Lansdown Cemetery at the bottom of the tower, as he had originally wished in 1848.
