Dredge was a local brewer who had successfully designed and built the Victorian Bridge based on his tapering chains design. This would have removed the obstructive stone piers that caused some of the problems when the river flooded. With the Skew Bridge beyond and the tower of St. Mark's Church behind the railway viaduct.
Day & Haghe, Lithrs. to the Queen. See Image Refs. 11552, 11739 and 41639.
