Description: Gleaming brightly, this building had a short life and was damaged by bombs in the Bath Blitz in April 1942. The rounded facade on Milk Street still bears the scars of the shrapnel damage. The reason so few photographs exist of this building before it was damaged was the fact that it only stood for two and a half years before the bombing and there were very few active photographers at that time. The building is currently undergoing renovation.
Photographed in September 1938.
