Description: Bishop of Bath and Wells 1673-1684. Was a English Royalist theologian and bishop. Joined the Royalist Army when Civil War broke out and was captured at Naseby in 1642. When released he sought refused in Holland in 1648. Returned to the country after the restoration of the monarchy and appointed Bishop of Bath and Wells in 1672. He took the oaths of William and Mary when they were crowned in 1689.
