Description: A group of officials and experts, including Industrial Archaeologist Angus Buchanan (with flat cap) are shown inspecting the site formerly occupied by Stothert & Pitt, now developed as housing known as Bath Riverside and retail for Homebase and Sainsbury's. This series of photos provides a great insight into the derelict industrial site that can be seen in the background. The Enquiry about the Green Park site and the conservation of the Railway Station, of which this was the second resulting from successful lobbying by Major Tony Crombie of the Bath Society and which resulted in the conservation on the Sainsbury site. The Inspector was Mr. Dahl, the party included John Kitley (Planning Dept.), under Chris Pounds, co-operating with Mary Couper and Guy Smith on W.R.A.P. - the Western River Area Plan), Mr. Jolly of British Rail, the Evening Post sub-reporter and long-standing photographer, the Avon Planner, old Mr. Chapman (?) and the pig-tailed gentleman from the Committee on Rheumatic Disorders.
