Description: An early plan of intended restoration of Bath Abbey by George Gilbert Scott. The location of known Norman remains are shown. Also the new pew layout and intended position of the organ.
This drawing is signed off by Gilbert Scott, Spring Gardens, London. Irvine, a trained architect, was the Clerk of Works and thus in charge of the restoration of the Abbey for Scott between 1860 and 1873. The plan is not signed by Irvine.
