Description: The big house on the right is the Trossachs. The stream in the foreground is the Lam Brook, which has been newly straightened and the field on the right is probably being prepared for opening as a cricket ground. That may well have something to do with all the wooden fencing that has gone up along the river bank. It is staggering just how wooded everything is now compared to then.
A fabulous early albumen print of an area prior to development.
