Description: Looking southwest towards the former St. James's Hall, with the ruins of the houses in Stanley Road in the foreground. On the far side is the rear of Newark House on the corner of Dorchester Street and Railway Road. The damaged Bath Co-operative Society Ltd. dairy in Newark Street can be seen in the background and on the right are the premises of Bath Wholesale Grocers Ltd. at 1, Newark Street. The chimneys belong to the electricity power station beside the river. A scene after the Bath Blitz in April 1942.
