Description: Looking westwards along the River Avon towards the Skew Bridge with a steam train crossing. The Old Bridge is behind. The jumbled backs of the houses that lined the north side of Claverton Street are on the left, demolished to make way for road improvements in the 1960s.
Painted by Charles Isaac Ginner (1878-1952), oil on canvas. British, but born in France, Ginner moved to London in 1910. He served as a war artist in WWII.
