Description: Two boys prepare to play marbles outside an old stable building. A circle has already been scratched in the dirt at their feet and one boy is reaching into his sack for his marbles.
Painted by David Hardy (1837-1870), oil on board. One of family of artists, Hardy died in Clifton - his son, Paul, became a renowned book illustrator.
