Description: Looking east towards London Street. The distinct shape of T. R. Hayes' showroom on the left on the edge of Hedgemead Park with a double-decker bus at the foot of Margaret's Hill with the raised pavement of Walcot Parade beyond.
Painted by Walter Richard Sickert (1860-1942), oil on canvas. Fascinated with urban culture, Sickert's paintings often feature townscapes and ordinary people. He spent much time in Bath towards the end of his life, painting the city's streets. He died here and is buried in Bathampton.
