Description:

Home to Henry Fielding (1707-1754) and his family when he visited in 1748 whilst he was a Circuit Court Judge for the West Country. He may have written part of The Adventures of Tom Jones whilst staying here. It sat at the east end of Twerton High Street before the railway line cut through the village. Demolished in 1963 it was once at 4 Fielding's Buildings, which is now the site of Lidl.
