Description:

The viaduct with the platform along the top and station at the east end, was built in 1840 as the Great Western Railway joined Bristol to London. It originally included rooms underneath the viaduct itself, access from the Twerton side of the viaduct. It was closed as a war time measure in 1917, but never re-opened as the trams from the centre of Bath became more popular.
